Gorillaz turntable
The Gorillaz are the most famous non-existing band in the world. Created by Damon ‘the Blur’ Albarn, the band is known for their visual representation, live performances and oh yeah; music! For their “10 years” expo, EMI organised an exhibition at rebel label “Fish & Chips”. We created a digital turntable, providing all the youngsters the opportunity to mix some albums. “Fr-fr-fre- fresh!”

Choosing the right song is the real tricky part
Created in 2011, the OpenSource libraries weren’t what they are today. The whole turntable was coded from… scratch.
It was one of my first projects, and I still like it to date. People enjoyed using it, and learned a lot about touch devices in a very early stage (2011). If done today, the project would probably be a lot smooth in use, thanks or hard- and software improvements overall!

The design by Beyond.io was also super fun to implement. The interface was to be understood right away, without anybody providing instructions.
